Is this normal,why does he do it?

My little boy always grabs and holds the front of his pants (like they do when they have to pee) whenever he gets a spanking.

Why does he do this,and have you ever heard of this?

I agree with Bittersweet. It sounds like thats some spanking! I'd say its from fear. Do you spank him if he wets himself too? Cos the fear of pain from spanking might make him nearly wet himself and so he's scared of getting told off for that too!

Please look into other forms of disipline, like the naughty spot or counting to 10.

You have to stop spanking him. Please read books about how to discipline your child. Use time- outs.If you don't stop spanking you will have soon bigger problems with him than the one that you have now,I have two children ( ages 10 and 2 1/2] I have never spanked them. You can do it too.

Could be:

-Fear-if he is scared and bracing for pain then this could be a way to comfort himself...or maybe the fear/anxiety makes him feel he may pee!

-Embarrassment-maybe he's worried he might pee himself and to avoid further embarassment holds just incase!

-Pain-depending on position you have him in could he hold himself as its umcomfortable for him?

Thats the problem with spanking-children dont really learn whys and just remember the pain, fear, embarrassment etc which is why it works for behaviour but not emotionally or for understanding behaviour!
