is it normal to have yellow/brown discharge 3 weeks after giving birth?

  1. Yes, but if it starts to smell, or gets worse you should call your doctor..


  2. yes that is just"old " blood...you should stop in a couple days!

  3. yes that is a normal change in your lochia after delivery. It will continue to get lighter the further out you are.. Watch for fevers, unusual odors that come from your discharge, increased pain or if you start having clots or the discharge returns to red or brown again.. Call your OB if those things occur.

  4. Yes. Bleeding , brownish discharge etc can continue 6-8 weeks after you have a baby. It's just your body trying to heal itself and catch up after nine months of carrying a baby.  

  5. Yes.  You will probably start to notice it turning more and more clear as the days go on.  It should gradually become clear and then go away in another week or two.  It should also get lighter and lighter in quantity as well.

  6. Yes.  As the lochia comes to an end, it changes from bloody to brownish to yellowish to white.  Completely normal.

  7. everyone's body is different, just give your gynecologist a call and explain it to him and he will tell you over the phone

  8. Yes, it will taper off in a couple more weeks.  Congrats on your new baby!
