  1. i'm 13 so i wouldn't know the combinations of the glucose test and pregnancy. however i am hypogloxemic. i took the glucose test and i do remember my stomach hurting a little afterwards.

  2. I didn't get sick from it but have had GD with both pregnancies. This time I had a glucose monitor at home because I have already been monitoring my sugar levels. As soon as I got home (10 mins after having my blood taken after the hour was up) I tested my blood at home and my reading was 8.0. To give you an idea of 'what its equivalent to' most of my '1 hour after meal readings' are between 7.5 and 7.8. So basically you are packing in the same sugar drinking that drink as you are when eating a meal. Oh and b.t.w. I get the same type readings (or higher sometimes) an hour after eating 'non sugar reduced' ice cream, 1 cup (literally) of regular soda or anything that you would normally consider sugary (chocolate, popsicles, jam, fruit juice etc). I think the drink packs in the sugar...but if you eat all those yummy treats you're probably getting just as much...if not more. scary thought eh?

Oh, and as for it meaning you have GD...I doubt it. The sugars should be completely out of your system within 3 hours so the fact you've been feeling like c**p for the last 24 I would assume its either something else, or possibly that you've just caught a bug that got 'triggered' by filling your stomach with sugar...same way eating something greasy or sugary would normally do : ) maybe call your doc just to be sure, but i'm sure everythings fine : )

  3. yeah...some ppl get sick from it...avoid it for some time

  4. I got sick from it too. I don't know what it's equivilant to but, it has a lot of sugar in it. My stomach was in knots for like 24 hours or so.

  5. Unless you actually have diabetes or gestational diabetes (in pregnancy) that drink wont do anything to you except raise your blood sugar level and make your body respond to it. If for instance you have diabetes your blood sugar levels could be very high and you need to bring them down with insulin (which only a Doctor can prescribe). My advice is to go and get checked out ASAP just in case the results aren't crash hot.
