My kittens p**p all the time. I find I have to change the litter box twice a day [once in the morning and once before bed]. I have two and they are about 3 and half months old. Is this normal and does anyone have any suggestions to at least get the stink away??

  1. I don't think it's anything to worry about.  Their digestive systems aren't full grown, so that could be it, or just stress, plus having one cat go makes the other one want to go.  I use litter with baking soda in it.  Crystals are good for the smell, but they don't really absorb.  And it might help to have a second small litterbox.

  2. It is normal.  They p**p a lot.  Use a good litter and keep it somewhere out of the way.

  3. Young kittens are like little babies they eat, p**p, and sleep, and play! It might be a good idea to check the amount of food that you are feeding them in a days time and see if it a recommended amount.

The stink could be the kind of food that you are feeding them as well. All Cat food is high in protein and will smell regardless. Try the cat foods that are made with more natural ingredients like veggies and less of the processed meats that are cooked with intestines and left over pieces of animal parts. That will help a great deal and cost a little more as well!

  4. I have 2 kittens around the same age and I am constantly doing the same. I just find constantly keeping their litter box clean helps. Also I put the litter box in the spare bedroom so people don't have the joy of smelling the box right when they get to my house. Another thing is my brother's girlfriend does is she keeps the litterbox in her bathroom and everytime she uses the restroom she checks the box and flushes the clumps, she stays on it!
