  1. Glasses and other artificial corrections don't address the real issues of blurry vision. You are fortunate enough to get them when you are older and aware enough to watch them rob you of your amazing eyesight. Most people get them when they are quite young and don't understand what is going on. Artificial corrections take away our 3D vision and make everything flat and two dimensional. They also take away our textural awareness and diminish our color vision. Since we keep using our eyes in the same way that gave us blurry vision in the first place, our vision gets worse year after year and we have to get stronger and stronger glasses.

  2. OK, forget what that guy said. (TheEyeGuy,not pedestal)Basically, the shape of the eye or cornea will cause light to either focus or not focus on the retina. When it does not focus on the retina it creates blurred vision. Your eyeglasses provide the proper curvature to bend light as it enters the eye and bring the focus to the right point and gives you clearer vision. There are no exercises or secret vitamins you can take to improve this. Your uncorrected vision of 20/25 is not bad. With glasses I'm sure you notice a slight improvement and can usually wear them only when you feel the need, like for TV and night driving.

  3. Yes, it's just like picking up a sharp knife when you've been used to blunt ones...

Your eyes haven't got any worse, but you've just shifted your idea of what GOOD is.

(Worst case of that I've ever had was borrowing a car...

It had brakes at least twice as good as mine.  Suddenly my car's brakes seemed feeble, though I'd been happy with them before.  It's about knowing the difference.)

  4. Yeah, it's normal. Your eyes will take a little while to adjust to the 'new eyes' .
