I was wondering how many BM a day are normal for a 1-year-old. Mine has an average of 4 per day. Awhile back it was one or two. Is this normal? She is neither constipated, nor does she have diarrhea, but it just seems like an awful lot of messy diapers.

  1. Maybe you are over feeding her. My 1 year old has just 2 bm's a day and he eats alot.

  2. Well my 1 year old is going through this stage and my 2 year old already went through it! '

When a baby has alot of BM it is becuase they are growing and that is sad for moms to clean but it is good for the baby to get out my babies diaper is messy 5/10 times a day and that is a record most times i wouldnt worry about it but if it gets green or yellow than take your abby in

  3. Is she breastfed?  Breastfed babies have more bm's then babies that aren't receiving breastmilk.  I think my daughter had 1 or 2 bm's a day at that age.

  4. i wouldnt necessarily it's normal, but at least she is cleaning out her bowels which is a good sign.. maybe u are feeding her too much fiber?? or too many grains? try to switch up her diet for a day or two. see if that helps and make sure u give her plenty of water so that she is well hydrated.
