I began taking BP pills to help reduce heavy bleeding and long periods. The periods are lighter, but my periods will start way before the pack is over and will last for up to 10-11 days. Is this normal?

  1. Your period should come during the 4th week of pills.  (Mine comes on the 25th pill.)  Your period will probably be the same length as it used to be for awhile and eventually it will start getting shorter.  It took about 8 months for mine to get shorter.  They were always 7 days and then, after 8 months on b/c pills, they went down to 3 days.

  2. This can happen when you are just starting on birth control pills and should regulate itself by the third pack. If it doesn't then you might need a stronger dose and should contact your doctor. This was the information given to me by my obgyn when I had the exact same symptoms.

  3. I don't think so ,   if you just recently started taking them go to your docter and you can try a different one until you find one that works best for you .
