  1. I don't think it's high 99.0 degrees is regular for a rectal temp and 98.6 is normal for the other ways.  I would say it's definitely a low grade fever if anything.  I would just watch and make sure it doesn't get higher.

  2. Not too high. Give him tylenol or motrin for kids or a warm bath. This should help in no time.

  3. It is a little bit high but I wouldnt medicate for anything less than 100.6

Sometimes letting the fever go is actually helping get rid of whatever is causing it.

  4. It is barely a fever at all, nothing to be alarmed about.  A Dr wouldn't even want to see him until it was more like at least 101 or 102 or higher.  That is what is known as a slight fever and actually can be a normal fever for many children.  The best thing to do according to the pediatrician i take my boys to is to take your sons temp when he is feeling really good and has just been sitting around or not being to active and see what it says.  That would be considered his normal or average temp.  Then you will be able to tell if your son has a fever and how above normal it is for him.  I know my temp seems to be about 99 all the time when i am feeling ok.  My boys run about 99.2 normally so they are considered to even have a slight temp until they are closer to 100.

  5. is somewhat high... but not bad until 101 or 102

  6. Honey, your son may have a slight temperature but 99.6 really isnt high enough to worry too much about.  As a former preschool teacher, we typically wouldnt even call parents unless the temp was 101+ or if the temp was combined with other symptoms.

Give him some childrens motrin/tylenol and monitor any changes, it should go down after medicine but may go back up when it wears off, just continue the medicine if this happens.  Make sure he gets plenty of fluids and watch his output, if ya know what I mean.

  7. it is a low-grade fever.

give him tylenol or ibeprophen and he should be ok.

there is a good chance he is getting his molars.

  8. It's a little warm, but nothing to be too worried about.  Just give him a little tylenol and try to do quiet activities.  If it gets 100 or above then I would call the dr.  Also make sure he is getting a little extra in fluids.

  9. It's normal. Start worrying if it goes higher that 101. Give him ibuprofen. That should help. Hope he feels better.

  10. I'm conservative about medicine and I wouldn't even give him anything until it hits 101, just because the margin of error on a thermometer can be more than 1 degree depending on the thermometer and where you take the temperature.  I'd go more by his disposition - is he acting normal or more sluggish and cranky than usual?  That'll be a better indicator.
