  1. Oh Honey be proud. He is doing so well!!

My elder twins turn 3 next month and at your son's age one was barely speaking (he only babbled) & the other said only a handful of words.

They are now turning 3, and 1 speaks really clearly, in full sentence. Some words are still a little muffled, but he is doing well. It is embarrassing hearing him screaming out *Poppy's Red Truck* (F instead of Tr :( )

The other has had multiple surgeries to correct his ears/hearing. He is starting to say a few more words now, but mostly signs.

That's fantastic that your son says that much. Just keep talking to him.

  2. He isn't even two years old, what are you expecting "The Great Orator"?  He is learning to speak, maybe you should learn to listen better.

  3. yeah this is fine i think ur child can say quite a bit for hes age my kids have spoke al sorts of words and sounds and can all talk very well by the time they were 2 i no children that don't speak at all and r nearly 3 i think u have done really well to get ur son 2 say these words already

  4. Kids learn to do things at different paces. My first daughter could speak quite well at about 20 month and my 2nd daughter is 20 month now and she can only say a few words eg juice, mummy, daddy, more for remote, baby. I think its cause her big sister ( 2 1/2 ) does all the talking for her. You will wake up one day and he will be able to speak perfectly it all just takes time. You have nothing to worry about he is still just a baby.

  5. sure some words are going to sound all goofy and garbled...he is learning. but if all his words are sounding that way I would talk to your pediatrician and maybe get a hearing test done. if something is wrong in that department it couldl effect his speech for many years to come. if there is a problem with his hearing you can get it corrected while he is young and get him into speech to help with the rest.

  6. He sounds like he is doing wonderfully!

I know a few toddlers who talked like this and it was like they were having a full on conversation in gibber but in the last 12 months they have come ahead in leaps and bounds, and at the age of 3 are talking better then all the others!!

Is he a younger sibling?? I notice that my 2nd son does not talk nearly as much as my 1st at the same age, but then my eldest always nows what the younger one is after!

  7. I would say so. I think our toddler was about this age when she would make the sound and rhythm of a sentence which made no sense, but she would throw in a well sounded word. All children develop at different paces, this isn't necessarily a sign of how bright they are. Ours could count before she could speak fully. She's now 29 months and speaks in full sentences. It seemed as though it happened almost over night.

  8. yes, it's especially normal for males.  Males develop slower than females, so just be patient with your son. He'll come around besides what's the rush? Just as long as he's not talking like this in kindergarten then you're good. Besides  You'll miss the baby talk when it's gone =).

  9. My 23 month old says some words clearly and some I just don't understand. The is very normal. They will get better with speech as they get older. I just took my daughter of her passy. And boy she hasn't shut up since. Good Luck
