  1. I'm terrified. I'm 14. People just say you need to just relax. But I'm to nervous to relax.

  2. me! And I'm 17 too.

  3. I was freaked out about tampons too when I was a teen but the trick is to buy some slender ones and practice. And relax because when you're frustrated and tense your body clenches up down there and then you really won't be able to get it in. Trust me, once you figure it out you'll love it. They are so much more convenient.

  4. im 17 too and i had the same problem for a while but i got it now.

just try and buy the skinny ones and stand up when you put it in.

i was worried for a while but it cant get lost once you put it in and if you cant get it out then sit in the bathtub and do it.

    hope i helpedd :]]

  5. If you really want to try them, get the junior tampons. They are slimmer and easier for first timers to use. I promise you, once you get the hang of it, you will never want a pad again. Good luck.

  6. I started to use tampons when I was 13, and I was depressed because whenever I tried to insert a tampon it would never go in. Then I got scared about them going in too far and getting stuck in my cervix, but then I found that that could never happen unless you wear a tampon while having s*x.

Really, you shouldn't be scared because there is no need to fear. How come you can get a tampon in? Are you positioning it properly? When I first started to wear them, I thought I was too good to actually research how to insert one. Then it wouldn't go in and I thought I didn't have a "hole" down there or at least there wasn't anything to insert a tampon. Remember that v****a, uh "hole" is positioned in an angle. Try pointing it to the small of your back while inserting. Trust me, THIS IS THE MOST COMMON CASE OF WHY TAMPONS WON'T GO IN. I was once a first time tampon user too, you know.

I'm not scared anymore because a tampon can't get lost because there is no where to go. And if you're uncomfortable about it, then that's OK. You don't need to wear one when you're older, some people just prefer to wear it for different reasons. For me, I use both pads and tampons. But sometimes I think pads feel sort of like a "diaper" so I started to use tampons.

And yes, THIS IS NORMAL! lol

  7. There is a trick to getting a tampon in. You put one foot up on a chair or the toilet, and after you have gotten the tampon in a little way and feel a bit of resistance, you need to make the tip of it that is inside you go down towards the floor a little (I imagine this is to avoid the cervix, or neck, of the uterus). Then you will find you can push it the rest of the way.

  8. Ive never even attempted to wear a tampon and im 19.

To tell you the truth i am a little scared to use a tampon because i have a septate hymen (and ive heard scary stories of people who have this and worn tampons).

BTW i find pads comfortable most of the time, and dont really find a problem with them.

If your scared to use tampons then wait till your more comfortable with them, theres no need to rush, take your time

  9. dude same here cant even get it in lol :D

  10. yeah i am too cuz i've heard of a lot of people have troubles. like it hurts REALLY bad for some people. well i am a virgin too so i have no idea how it will feel. i kno they feel less messy and you can go swimming but my fear is bigger than my want to use one.

  11. Oh yeah, most are nervous/scared to use them at first. Eventually when you get it and get used to it it won't be any issue at all, but it may just take some time and that's totally normal. I didn't start using them until like 19 or 20, when I finally got it with no problem. Before then I probably tried on occasion off and on for a year or two before I actually got it and was comfortable with using it.

Of course, I was also trying it with those horrible cardboard ones. When you get the nerve to try it again eventually, just get a box of the skinnier light ones in the plastic, rounded end, applicator and try it when your flow is heavy. It won't last long since it's a light, but will help you get used to doing it.

  12. Im 22 and believe me, it is scary.

    But it gets easier....really.

I only wear them if i need to go swimming or stuff like that, but i still wear pads.

You dont need to switch to tampons when you get older, if you prefer pads stick with them!

  13. i used to be scared, but im not anymore.

the reason most girls are scared is because there is a risk of a type of syndrome (sorry but i forgot the name of it)

and also because you need to get used to putting objects up there.

as long as you wear the right size best for you, you will be safe.

if it wouldnt go up, maybe you had the wrong size,  i find tampax compac is the best because they are small and are easily inserted.

if you prefer no applicator i strongly suggest O.B because they are very tiny, and work well.

    hope i helped :)

  14. just relax, don't be scared

  15. I'm not scared but you could try different kinds of tampons that have slightly different means of inserting one. you need to relax first of all. if you cant get it in it could be either that your so tense that there's nowhere to put it or that your too "small" to handle one.

  16. No actualy i was never scared to try one...

    That just me i guess...

Ive even wore one on my first period...Hmm idk...

If u really want to use them then just keep trying...

  17. It may have to do with the type you are trying. some are  certainly better than others. What makes you feel scared out using a tampon? theres really not a whole lot to be scared of. They can't get lost, there are a lot easier to tend to than a pad, and in my opinion a lot more sanitary. For me when I was younger and use to wear pads I always felt like i was wearing a diaper, tampons once there in u really cant feel them. If you do feel the tampon or feel uncomfortable while wearing one then chances are it wasn't pushed in far enough or the wrong size is being used. There are so many different kinds out there, one is bound to feel right for you.

  18. Well I'm fourteen and I don't mind wearing tampons. I prefer it. I wear boxers so it's harder to find the right place to put the pad, so tampons are good for me. Well i don't get why people think they are 'scary'. But if you are comfortable wearing pads that's totally fine. You won't have to switch when you get older. Just do what ever makes you more comfortable. And if you can't get one in try a different applicator. I don't like the cardboard kind. Try something like Tampax Pearl or  something with a plastic applicator.

And if you don't get it in the first time throw it out and try again. Maybe [[I know it sounds weird]] but take a mirror and put it in front of you and squat down. You'll be able to see and get it in.

Hope I helped and good luck!

  19. You don't have to wear tampon's.  I'm 30 and prefer pads.

  20. I won't exactly say I'm scared to wear one, but I won't feel comfortable wearing something that sticks into my body. I think you should stick with pads since you know there safe until you feel like changing if you ever do.   ask someone who you trust that uses tampons before you use them again so you at least have an idea of how they feel.
