There is a girl at my school who is already performing Class A music and she was just in Junior High and started competition in 6th grade choir and she sang the same song as me- a senior in HS with 4 years of competition experience. We also had a few alto girls who were versatile, or just too low to really be altos even, and sang with the men- (most of them smoke.) We had a guy who can sing soprano songs as well, and he is 17! Everyone is different, and learns at different paces- as we differ in other forms of devolopment and if you have experience with any instruments you are alto more likely to understand music a lot faster since you can actually read the notes. Perhaps she studied another form of music in the past- maybe she's just tallented.
