Is this normal for a mom and grandmom?

she's on myspace everyday obsessed with wanna be rappers and such giving him gifts and money and yesteday her update message read, "I can't believe the hating b*****s in this world!" She's gotta be almost 60 and she had this young guy at her place for week last week doing God knows what. is this normal grandma behavior now a day and i just don't know it?

If she wasn't like this before i would really start worrying. Giving strangers money....WHAT....maybe she is getting Alzheimer's or going senile. Just talking on the Internet is one thing but inviting total strangers in her house to stay. She is going to end up Raped or worse. They could be trying to get at her bank account anything.Someone in the family has to step in and try and talking to her. Even teenagers know better than to give out any personal information let alone give some dude money and tell him where you live. GET HER HELP for her own good!!!! Or you might not have a Grandma for long if she runs into the wrong guy.

Not normal at all! That's quite appaling to me! But at least she's having fun instead of having health problems and feeling crappy all the time.

We like to stereotype people according to many things including age. I know plenty of Grandmas who are still very youthful. So it really just depends on what you consider normal. Hey if she can still pull in the young guys more power to her.

Yikes.  Scary thought, my grandmother behaving this way. It sounds like she didn't have much of a social or s*x life before she got married - or maybe this is a delayed "mid-life crisis".  Either way, this is abnormal behavior. It's possible she doesn't understand the safety issues about being online.  I don't know if it would be any help, but you could talk to your mom about your grandma's bad habits.  It's not really our place to tell our grandparents they are acting crazy or dangerously, but you can't ignore it, either.  I wish you luck!

People always think that to be a grandma means you automatically become this nice, little-old-lady-in-a-rocking-chair person.  Getting older should cause a person to 'settle down' or get some wisdom but not always.  Some grandmas get crankier and meaner as they get older and some never grow up and want to still act like the youngsters.  I am happy that I have grandmas that act like grandmas and that I am proud of.

Maybe she is having a life crisis! Let Granny do what she wants. She deserves to enjoy life and who is to say what she can and cant do. Just try to make sure that this guy isnt trying to rob her blind!
