Is this normal for a rat?

sometimes when i pick up my rat she she bends her back to where her stomache is touching the ground and she'll shake terribly and she also likes to bite peoples feet

  1. First, how exactly are you picking up the rat, try picking her up differently,

    Second how often do you handle her? that can also be why shes reluctant to being picked up,

    Third biting can also just be a habit as long as its not you know a severe bite, i think its just a habit


  2. shes probably just stretching and im sure she is just playing around when she bites peoples feet.

  3. Does she do this all the time? It sounds like she might be in heat. Rats do seem to have a fascination with toes, especially if there's socks on em!

  4. Before you pick her up, put your hand in the cage and let her sniff you. If she doesnt act weird after that, its okay to pick her up. Do it slowly and calmly. As with the feet thing, I wouldnt worry. Dont put her on the ground if it continues. You could put her on a rat harness or tell your guests to pull their feet up. Good Luck ^_^
