Question:

Is this normal for everyone or...?

I had my earlobes pierced exactly 6 weeks ago today. According to the piercer, I was allowed to change my earrings today. No trouble at all, but the thing is that I left out my earrings for just a few MINUTES while trying on all of my other earrings that I bought... and then I noticed that it was kinda hard to put the earrings back in and that it closed a little in the back.

I got them back in, but I'm just wondering if this is normal... ya know, for the holes to close up in the back after you take out the starters for the first time.

because I'll have to keep my earrings out for softball (I'm a pitcher, so there's no way I can sneak them in) starting next week... with that, would it be okay if I just tied a light string with a sewing needle and then put the earrings in and then take them out every time I came back in for the inning? Please help if you can! Thank you!

  1. yes it's normal. =)

and yes, that would work. also i've heard of people putting band-aids over their earrings too

  2. i'm not positive,

but yes, i think that sounds normal.

the starter earrings are just keeping the holes there, so the first time you take them out the skin will automatically close up a little.

it should be fine before long, so you probably won't need to do the sewing needle thing.

and if you do have to do something to keep them from closing, i would suggest talking to your coach and wearing some small, clear studs or something else inconspicuous.

    i hope this helped! =]

  3. its not closing up that impossible to close up in a few minutes it would take days. it is just that the hole is so new and small and swollen that it is very hard to get in, but that feeling is perfectly normal. you can leave the earrings out for softball practice or games no problem but make sure you keep them in 24/7 all other times. hope this helps!

  4. That happened to me,

Your ear lobes wont grow in that fast so it may be just a scab or blockage.

I would try to get a cotton ball and kind of clean the front and back to see if that helps. :)

  5. ofcourse ull be aight, i had the same probs when i got my ear lobes pierced the second time around, it take time but ull be good!
