Question:

Is this normal for people who are down????????

when for example a person is new to depression or know nothing how to control they're thoughts when they are down, is it most likely possible for them to think too much that would make them even more depressed and confused? like for example.. when i was reflecting and thinking about my problem before some disturbing thoughts occur as well.. like what if im all alone? what if there's no cure to this? i feel like im soo pathetic.. especially no one knows what's happening to me.. so do you think its normal for people to think beyond normal when they are down? its normal isn't it? or not?

  1. Yes, its normal, because, already you feel down, and thinking nasty thoughts make the situation worse.Have you a good counsellor you can make an appointment with, but, you must remember, you are the only one who can snap out of this, other people can only advise and try to help. good luck


  2. Yes it's very normal. Don't forget the chemicals in your brain aren't normal so of course it's going to cause anxious thoughts. Try to distract yourself so you don't feel so out of control.

    This site is good way to distract yourself.

  3. I understand how you feel...you don't want to feel this way, but you can't control it...so you feel pathetic. I would recommend seeing a psychologist.  The only thing is...they will probably try to put you on a medication of some kind.  So if your against that then try to keep your self occupied..like being with friends or watching movies or something.

  4. When we're depressed, we never cut ourselves a break.  Don't get down on yourself for your thoughts.  What's normal, anyway?  Do you have someone to talk to?

    You want to verbalize all these feelings with a therapist or counselor who can help you sort things out.  Good luck.

  5. I think it is normal to think too much because you don't feel good and you are trying to figure out on your own what is wrong and how to fix it.

    Too much thinking is overwhelming.  It can make someone exhausted.

    As you think you realize certain things that further upset you.  Please get some help so you don't have to do this on your own any longer.

  6. It's normal for your thoughts to concentrate on your problems. It is part of the anxiety that comes with depression. Try to remember the good things left in life and make an appointment with a therapist.
