wen I'm bored i take out my pocket knife and clean under my fingernails, is that normal??

Only bad if you do it on shift while working in the kitchen at McDonalds... maybe that's normal too, I don't know.  ;)

Good hygiene is important to have but don't go chopping your fingers off.

it could be a little OCD, but I often groom like pushing back cuticles and cleaning my nails when I am bored.  

Now if you start cutting yourself tha maybe WEIRD.
