Question:

Is this normal or could I be pregnant?

I had a child a year ago, stopped breastfeeding exclusively almost 2 months ago, and still have not gotten my period. We want to have another child so have not used any birth control, but 3 pregnancy tests were negative. Is it normal to not have gotten my period back by now, or could I be pregnant, just too early to get results? Should I test again? It has been about 20 days since we were intimate.

  1. If you conceived 20 days ago then the pregnancy test would be positive by now. It is normal for it to take a while for your periods to come back after breastfeeding for as long as you did. After my first child I did not have a period until 6 months after she weaned (at 18 months of age)

  2. girl, i stopped nursing my son when he was 5.5 months old, had my monthly 2 days later, one day after my period, i got pregnnat, lol

Id go to the dr and get a test hun

  3. Two easy ways to check:

    1) Take a PREGNANCY TEST

    2) See a DOCTOR

    NOBODY HERE CAN DIAGNOSE YOU!!!

IT IS IMPOSSIBLE TO DIAGNOSE THESE THINGS OVER THE INTERNET!!!

  4. Yes its possiable, but it is also very possiable that your cycle hasnt regulated yet. I would go to the docter and get blood work done that would show up for sure!

  5. you might want to go ahead and test again just to be safe, but i breastfeed my daughter and when i stopped i didn't get my period for about a month and a half. so check with your doctor and see what he/she thinks.

  6. It can be a while before your period comes back after breastfeeding, even a couple of months.  It wouldn't hurt to test again.  I had the wonderful experience of stopping breastfeeding one October and by November was already pregnant with the next one!  We have 4 kids, and those two are now 26 and 25 -- 13 mos apart!
