  1. nothings wrong 88 is a good score

    keep working

and it was probably the nerves

  2. "Remember thou art mortal!"

It's golf. You could go to the same course tomorrow and shoot an 88 again.

But if the 88 was a practice round and the 108 was an official match, I'd say it was nerves.

  3. Everybody has a bad round fairly often.  You know the saying, "You can never beat golf."  The best player in the world constantly talks about getting better.  You'd think he couldn't get any better than he is.

  4. Dude, nothings wrong.  Take a deep breath, get another beer and swing away next week!  If you're worried, just switch from marking your ball with a black sharpie to a red or blue sharpie.  That's about it.  Good Luck!

  5. A golf swing comprised the works of all the little muscles in your arms, body, legs and back. Your muscles change everyday, so do your golf swings. Live with it.

  6. i was the same way yesterday we had a match and i usually shoot low 80s and i shot a 91 yesterday. You should be fine just keep your composure.

  7. Pressure, plain and simple.  Don't worry, you will get used to it.

  8. Totally normal. Same exact thing happened to me today. I normally shoot a 98-102 and today I shot a 124....maybe we played at the same place???? Weird...

  9. Nerves I would think I was Tiger Woods if I shot a 88

  10. The simplest answer is to ask you a question.  Where did you lose the strokes?  was it on the green?  was it on your approach shots? was it on your tee shots? how many fairways did you hit?  How many greens in regulation?  Break it down this way every time you play and you will figure out your weakest parts of your game.  A first competition can be a bit nerve racking.  Stay calm and concentrate on the shot at hand. Where do you want to place your shot?  If you miss that where do you want to miss it at?  These are some of the thought processes that will keep you level and in the match.  good luck and fairways and greens

  11. Don't fret ! You have to get used to playing in tournaments and the fact you were trying too hard put more pressure on your game. Forget about score. You have to learn to play one shot at a time starting with the first drive. Have a game plan for that shot, where do you want it ? What side of the fairway ? Why ? The second shot gets the same consideration, as does every shot and putt thereafter. Your only commitment has to be with the shot facing you. That quiets the nerves and improves your competitive demure.
