Is this normal ?

My aunt is calling the dentist once they are back from lunch. I had 8 teeth pulled yesterday. 4 of those were my wisdom teeth. It is hurting me bad today. They gave me Hydrocodene. Last night i slept good but i think that was because i was still on the anesthetic they gave me. The hydrocodene seems to help a little bit but i am still in bad pain and can't sleep. I have not ate hardly anything at all. Yesterday i had 3 bites of yogurt. And today i had 4 sips of soup. And i feel sick to my tummy. Is this normal? And what do you think he will do? Maybe prescribe something else? Or wait it out this weekend and if i am still in pain come back in next week. What do you think he would have me do? Thank you :)

  1. oxycodone made me painless when i had my wisdom teeth cut out.

  2. They will likely give you a different drug to take, one that works for you - in the meantime, make sure your dentist knows if you have taken *anything* else - many drugs should never be combined, or you can end up destroying your liver.

If you can, avoid taking anything until they get you something new - the stuff they give you will probably be another prescription, not just Tylenol, and much stronger than anything you have at home.

Make sure your aunt keeps after the dentist's answering service, and gets through to him as fast as possible - sometimes they just take messages, and sdon't pass them along fast enough, and it isn't the doctor or the dentist's fault...and you need to get this fixed right away.

Feel better - I'm so sorry you had to get so many teeth yanked.

Try and think about how beautiful you'll be when they are all done!

  3. yeah its totally normal. i had surgery on my mouth where i had to be knocked out completely so they could cut open my gums and dig for a wisdom tooth that was growing the wrong way. i couldnt eat very much for the next few days, and i also felt sick. its because your body is really tired and worn out from the trauma and pain. it'll go away in the next few days.

taking lots of advil might help take the edge off, just dont overdose lol

  4. yeah, you being nauseated is from the drugs they gave you. i had the same sicky feeling too, at least the first night. i threw up and then felt loads better. try some pepto bismol and crackers. it could be the meds they perscribed (if they perscribed any.) remember to keep drinking fluids like sprite, and water as well. also tea helps the pain. also icing your cheeks will help with swelling. (don't be afraid to take a motrin!)

    good luck!

  5. sorry idk but dont get ur braces on monday if it still hurts that would make it like10x worse
