Is this normal to experience in contact lenses?

I usually get the monthly contact lenses, where each month, I dispose of my lenses and pop in a new pair. The thing is, when I first pop in a new pair, the first couple days, my eyes feel a bit irritated and sometimes get red, and feels as if there's dust in my eye when there isnt, but after a couple days, im fine and my eyes feel normal. Is it normal to experience this discomfort after changing monthly disposable contact lenses? My eyes feel irritated the first couple days, but after, im fine. Is it normal for me to be experiencing this? Is it the way my eyes adapt, or could it be something else? I dont have any stigmatisms as well, my eyes just feel irritated the first couple times wearing monthly contact lenses, but then im fine after that. Is this normal?

  1. yes, ur eye needs to adapt to the lenses. its a different pair after all.

  2. I have that too, although usually just for a day, and my eyes don't quite get red, but it does feel like the lenses don't quite fit as well.

My guess is that, because disposable lenses aren't quite as well fitted as more expensive lenses that you keep for two years, they change their shape a little bit on the first day to fit.

But I'm not an eye doctor. Talk to whoever gave you the prescription for your contacts if you are worried. Eyesight is important!
