Question:

Is this normal when taking out bottom retainers?

Hi, I have the visible removable retainers with a wire in the front(called Hawley retainers)

So, when I take out my bottom retainers. The ends of the retainers kind of get "stuck" on my back teeth on both sides. Then ends would still be kind of hooked on my teeth. So I would have to wiggle them out or pull them out forcefully. I feel like I'm either going to break the end of my retainers or scratch my teeth on the inside.

Is that normal?

Thanks.

  1. they are like what mine were like but after a couple days they will wear in!!!!

  2. ****this is normal and nothing to worry about

  3. They will loosen up after a while

  4. When I first got my retainers and tried taking them off myself, it took me a few minutes. I felt like I was pushing really hard on them to come off and they wouldn't move, but I just got use to pushing hard and now I can get them off in 1 second. You just have to get use to it, trust me :)
