Question:

Is this normal with taking Trileptal?

I started taking Trileptal approximately a month ago for Bipolar disorder and it's helped with the really bad problems (totally uncontrolled mania and suicidal depressions) but I'm not sure if what I'm currently feeling is normal or not. It's been so long since I started with Bipolar symptoms.

Right now I feel like kind of flat, like I don't have any emotions at all. I react when something funny or upsetting happens but don't feel much of anything between times. Also I have a hard time focusing and concentration on things that used to be easy (for example tasks at work or reading a complete book).

Is this normal? or side effects from the medication that I should be worried about?

  1. That particular medicine is meant to stifle your emotions and that is just the unintended consequences.
