Question:

Is this normal zebra danio behavior?

I recently purchased my first freshwater tank. It has cycled and I have just introduced my first fish - 3 zebra danios. The largest seems to constantly chase the other 2 around the tank and appears to be nipping...but when I get a good look at the other 2 I see no damage. Could they just be playing cuz sometimes it seems like the smallest of the 3 is the instigator? The pet store said that once I can add a few more (a few weeks from now they suggested) they will school but I'm worried about their wellbeing until then.

  1. I own 5 zebra danios and need more they are just  playing and are very active fish they aggressive (highly active)but not mean.

  2. i love my danios i only have 2 now and they play all the time, i will get another pair in a couple of weeks, they just hang around together and have fun

  3. They will be fine. The bigger one is not going to harm the other to he is just playing and making sure they know that he is the biggest. They will school when more fish join your tank. Good luck witth hem all.
