  1. I think it should be fine your gecko isn't going to be eating the shell so it shouldn't harm him its just a hiding place. :-)

  2. I would boil it. Now i`m not 100% sure what that will do to the shell but that is what I do with rocks. Also i`m hoping you used diluted bleach (4 ounces of bleach per gallon of water) and then rinsed the shell compeletly. I also would let it are dry over night.

  3. if you ask me i wouldnt take the risk of your little baby gecko dieing

  4. Should be fine...

If you're worried still then boil it.

  5. i have leopard geckos! very cool...but anyway

personally, i wouldn't put that in his cage. and i would be kind of nervous about that fact that it was soaked in clorox for so long...that doesn't really seem like a good idea to me. its bleach and very toxic.

and for the record, i really wouldnt go by the things that petsmart people say. just because its petsmart...and theyre not really specialists on animals, they just sell them.

you should try googling some legitimate reptile specialists website or something.

but in my opinion, i would take the shell out until you are absolutely positive that your cleaning method is ok.

  6. anything pourous I wouldn't use clorox....I would boil it for a while.  Hopefully you rinsed it in lots and lots of plain water afterwards to get rid of all of the chemical smell and fumes.

  7. its ok, it was born to be.. but if you are scared, boil it a bit
