what is the point of that little flap on the bottom of this chest protector? Most of the other ones I have seen dont have that. what is it for?

mmm...tricky question...mayB since your is son is a male!...its would be a smart idea to protect his genitals from any object that may injure him there...unless you dont want grand kids..

Okay well I'm not sure if you are being serious or not...but whatever. The "flap" is there to protect his jewels! I'm sure that the other ones you bought previously did not have it because he was not big enough to have to worry about that. But now, according to standards this chest protector is about the size that children would need to protect themselves 'down there' now.
