Question:

Is this okay for my mice?

I have been feeding my female mouse, who just had babies about 2.5 weeks ago, the fried noodle things you get when you buy won-ton soup from the chinese places. I've only been giving her about one per day and she really likes them, so will this harm her? Also I am going to separate the male babies and female babies soon. I already have the Daddy in another cage and was wondering if it would be okay to put the male babies in with him and keep the females with the Mom? Thanks in advance!!

  1. It's not going to hurt her if it's in moderation. It definitely shouldn't be a significant part of her diet, but the extra fat will help her with keeping weight on while nursing. Make sure you're giving her fruits and veggies and a high quality mouse food in addition!

EDIT: also, you can keep the females with mom and the males with dad once they are weaned (if dad accepts them!)

You'll probably have to seperate the males once they get older or they'll fight though. Watch dad to make sure he doesn't become aggressive with them too.

  2. The noodles are fine for her, as long,as you don't give her too much. You will have to put the boys in a seperate cage than Daddy, but it's ok to keep the girls with Mom. You might have to seperate some of the males if they start getting territorial and fighting, so keep extra cages.

  3. feed a hamster hamster food keep the dad away from the mom and the babies but if you want you can give them as a treat fruits and veggies

  4. The fried noodles are okay. They are a healthy treat for a mouse, Fruits, vegetables, meat and eggs are great for the mice because its healthy and they love it (along with hamster food since they dont really make mice food. Anyway make sure you give the mother mouse a bowl full of milk. It will help her in producing more milk for the kids,

Anyway the female mice go with the mom. The males should go with the dad. Altho be cautious there is a possibility the dad might attack because of all the different scents. If nothing happens then let the stay. But if you notice signs of fighting seperate the male mice (keep a spare aquarium or cage available) So basically its okay to feed mice junk food every once in a while just dont make a habit of it. Good luck with the babies and finding them good homes.
