Part of the cork fell into the wine bottle. I still haven't mastered using a corkscrew. Any tips?

  1. Sometimes when the cork crumbles it means that the wine may have gone bad, but I serve wine all day long and everyone is going to mess up and open a bottle wrong every once in a while. Try and find a double hinged bottle opener, this will put less stress on the cork.

  2. i might be wrong but i thought they made special strainers just for that kind of thing.

  3. if the wine is still good, just drink it all before the cork affects it... which it can.  You might want to consider a non-stick bottle opener next time, mine i havn't had an issue with yet, and had it for a a few years:

  4. Just push it the rest of the way in and strain it into another bottle. That way you can still seal it when you're done with it and you won't have to worry about any little cork bits in your wine.

  5. Hehe, All my wine comes in a box!!!
