The venues are the worst anywhere in the world (No food besides a snickers or popcorn if you are lucky + the drinks are warm and it takes 40 min's to get a water!). The tickets are very hard to get unless you are willing to pay triple face value from scalpers. The stands are only half full, and even athletes parents can't get tickets.. Oh and don't get me started on the foulest ever smelling toilets in the world!! I also heard of one lady not being allowed to take it baby formula to an event for the baby that was in her arms! Any one else agree or have any other opinions??

  1. These Olympic games were the worst, yes the opening and closing ceremonies are great but the games in china really destroyed it.

Biggest problem is that its too restrictive lies corruption and the worst is amateur referees and judges who don't know how to do there jobs right.

Lets hope no more Asian countries gets these events there so restrictive and know one can really enjoy the events

  2. What else is new?  Scalpers, smelly toilets, warm drinks, this never, never, never, ever happened before!  hahah

Blame the terrorists for making liquid bombs.  Now we can't bring any liquids in secure areas like airports or Olympic venues.

Bird's Nest Stadium was designed by Swiss architects.

The Water Cube was designed by Australian architects.

I watched some interviews with foreign journalists and they said that the venues were first rate, even better than in Athens or Sydney.

Actually, this is one of the most successful Olympics ever.

  3. This years Olympics has been the best so far!

SO many records broken and new stars were born.

2 weeks ago the world didnt have a clue who Micheal Phelps or Usain Bolt was!

  4. The 1972 Olympics were the worst with the terrorist attack.

  5. With a handle like yours, no one will expect that you will say anything that is remotely intelligent, or even balanced regarding the greatest Olympic that have ever been held in the modern history of the games.  So I will not waste my breath.

Edit: I was not trying to be balanced as there are already way too many unfounded slanders towards the host nation that has been nothing but gracious and courteous to their visitors and people like the asker always find ways to whine.  And at least my handle is not: China is no 1

  6. No.

    Perspective is needed here.

    What is worse:

A: Terrorists killing 11 athletes (1972 Munich Massacre)

B: Terrorist bomb causing 2 deaths and over 100 injuries (1996 Atlanta boming)

C: The toilets stink and the popcorn is stale (2008 Beijing whinefest)

    Reality check, please.

  7. I think not the worst, not the best. Would probably give the best to Sydney, Australia so far and don't think China will top them.

Still, has been awesome in China and yeah some controversies along the way. The sporting facilities are incredible - just wish more seats had back-sides on them!

  8. NO! i think these olympics were one of the best!!!

  9. No, i think it was great. You obviously did not enjoy going to the games and don't like china at all, so why did you bother going? The queues for food was a tad long i admit but my coke was nice and ice cold. so u prob had bad luck. Bird's nest was fully seated when I was there. I rather enjoyed the olympics and too bad you did not.

  10. whatever you say

  11. I dont really think is the worst, its been great, with some downs. But heck lot of records broken by the olympians!

  12. Not the worst ever, but not the best either.

    And as for this answer:

"With a handle like yours, no one will expect that you will say anything that is remotely intelligent, or even balanced regarding the greatest Olympics that have ever been held in the modern history of the games. So I will not waste my breath.

    Source(s):

Lived in China for three years. Married to Chinese national"

Dude, no one is going to call you balanced either.

"Greatest Olympics in modern history of the games" Yeah, not so much.

  13. i think if your experience was that bad, you should have stayed home and watched television coverage.

    and I have to laugh

People poo.  Ever been inside a ladies room in Bloomingdale's??

    omg

    talk about foul !!

    Bloomi's? about 12 or 14 at a time.

the Olympics? hundreds at a ttime!

  14. definitely not the worst..the opening ceremony was amazing, history was made in beijing, legends were created, numerous records were broken, and i had fun watching 15 days of olympics so far.

  15. You were there to see all of this firsthand? wow

  16. It's not the 'worst ever' but it certainly does suck.

  17. I think it's the worst when you consider all the controversy:

China using underage gymnasts and winning gold Cuba losing sports they're supposedly good at and having their athlete banned for life and cleared from the records

France talking trash to the US

Usain Bolt acting inappropriately after winning

Great Britain teasing and taunting Jamaica...where does it end?

  18. I don't think any Olympics can be perfect and make the whole world happy.

Considered China as a developing country, she has put load of efforts to make this event to meet international anticipations. Of coz there are some issues (Hygiene, Human Rights, ticket issue ...) western people upset about, but she is doing quite good overall.

Unfortunately i couldn't make myself to Beijing otherwise i can chip my view about the issues you provided. For what i watched on TV and read on newspaper, there are not many coverages you mentioned.

It would be great if you can advise these are your stories or from 3rd party sources.

  19. Thats a little harsh.  I was in Athens in 2004 and loved the experience.  I wish I got to go to China, from what i have seen the games and competitions were intense, sure you have Cubans kicking refs, the British taunting the Jamaicans!?!  Seriously what the heck was that all about? The UK has how many metals on the track?  Like the Jamaicans need  more motivation!  You had a random stabbing of the father in law of the US mens Volleyball team.  Other then that it was pretty good IMO...

  20. It's not the worst but It's by far not the best.

Too much drama. These games were actually very un-olympic for the most part. But I enjoyed them (not as much as I enjoyed Athens and Sydney though)

  21. China blows man

    worst eva

  22. It almost sound like you are  there!

how come i don't hear anything about the water problem?

I think it is a successful games...remember Olympic Games belong to the world,  that means also the other side of the countries,  not just American and their 'friends'

  23. I'd vote for Moscow 1980 - it also killed ABC's commitment to the Olympics, so we're stuck with NBC.

  24. SPECIAL OLYMPICS SUCK!!!!!

  25. We get your point, blame the game, not the players

  26. I Have been to 4 olympics and i would say of the four i have experienced as a spectator that sidney was superb, very nice people, nothing to much for them officials, they would do anything to help. seoul was nice in that the people were friendly but the facilities were a bit unkempt. Atlanta nice facilities but very unhelpful officials and not very friendly locals. los angeles was the pits, awful management thugs as officials, and even charged for toilet paper in a public toilet. people were nicer than Atlanta. China may have had smog but anyone who has visited LA will tell you some parts are so smog filled that its like a fog scene from an old black and white movie. all games should be based on sidney the australians have set a mark that few can come near.
