Sigh, this just shows how humans act worldwide. Some places may be more accepting than others, but hatred and violence are always simmering beneath the surface. And that can be anywhere. This hurts me since my atheist nephew spent nearly a year in Bosnia protecting the Muslims from the Serbs. I wonder if he'll think his efforts as a peacekeeper were wasted.

On the contrary, I know Serbs, Croats and Bosnians that argue amongst each other over whose group punishes g**s more than the other groups.

One man from [x] Balkan country proudly told me once how people tried to have a g*y parade in his country's capital city of [x], but it was abruptly cancelled when soccer hooligans let loose on them and bloodied them enough not to think of doing it again. He then pointed to the neighbouring country that had a g*y parade which despite the protests was able to proceed to the end.

He pointed this out as an example of how his country still has morals and the neighbouring country has degraded itself, which indirectly says that his country should be controlling its neighbour because of superior morality.

I didn't see a need to name to identify the nationality or religion, because they're more similar to each other than they'd like to admit.

Hi sweet Poppy, Yes, sadly this is one of rare situations when followers of different religions unite.  Of course it is a situation where they are persecuting a group of people for a different lifestyle.  This is a festival of culture and art.  Not an attempt to recruit members to their choice of s*x partners.  I pray no violence takes place during their celebrations.
