Is this one of the worse choices of presidential candidates?

I write from England (UK). I love America and the American people but I wonder who is the worse choice between Obama and McCain...

On one hand a man with no experience and no gravitas, whose short political career and presidential campaign has been engineered and kept buoyant through affirmative action (I mean, there is no way that a caucasian candidate with so little status, would have lasted a month against the Clinton machine, unless perhaps he had looked like George Clooney!).

On the other hand a septuagenarian with zero charisma, poor health and a running mate who believes God created the words 6000 years ago!

Is America short of politicians with experience, intelligence and charisma?

You are still the undisputed leaders of the free world. You need someone big, strong and solid at the top. It seems to me that you've got neither in these two candidates.

Ok, I have highlighted the negatives in both candidates! Forgive me, it's not my fault that I am English. Ok, easy on the insults please!

  1. I agree with you on somethings. But there are so many more reasons why Obama was able to stand against the clintons other than he is black. He comes from the midwest which is more appealing in elections than the North East because since forever ago, the northeast has been voting the same way together. Sexism was a tad influential. Also, a lot of people HATED hillary. I know a lot of republicans registered for the primary to vote against hillary (more than they did obama). And then there was the "dirty politics" hillary played.

These are pretty bad candidates, but it doesn't mean they won't do a good job. Bill Clinton had little experience and so did Bush. (Bush had a position that was almost purely a figurehead, symbolic power).

  2. And you need a better leader that has a backbone when it comes to immigration so I have a place to hide when the Mexicans take over this country

  3. Obama never needed to utilize affirmative action...as he worked his butt off to get where he is today. He has 12 years of service in our government....more than many other presidents. As you must have seen from the past 8 years, Bush's 'experience' hasn't been a good thing.

  4. We like to get input from the citizens in our many satraps.  It gives us something to ignore.  Wait until we elect someone like Caligula or Nero. Neither of them had nuclear weapons.

  5. No insults, but I don't think that you know anything about Senator Obama. Not only is he intelligent and charismatic, but he has 20 years of exerience in public service. As far as affirmative action, I don't think it played any part in him being selected as our nominee. I have been a long time supporter of the Clinton's but, I have not been pleased at some Bill's actions while in office .  I am not referring to scandals/investigations that wasted our tax payer dollars. Furthermore, I was terribly disappointed in the way Hillary ran her campaign. I never imagined she or her campaign would have stooped so low at times and not be willing to apologize. (But Hillary wanted Obama to reject and denounce..)

As far as the McCain/Palin ticket, he's 72 years old and his health is not that great. He selects a woman that he's met once and talked to on the phone a few times. Her experience has been that of mayor and then 2 years of time as Alaska's Governor.  McCain picked her to get the angry Hillary voters and to help him with social conservatives. Republicans don't care about experience, they wanted failed business man George W. Bush as their leader and the rest of America has paid dearly for it.

The leaders of the Republican Party in this country have an agenda the helps the rich and big business against the interests of the people. Most are socially conservative and feel they have the right to force their beliefs on others and tell Americans how to live their lives. They want war which makes their contributors big money at the risk to the lives of our citizens.

  6. Yes. I will be voting third party this year. I no longer vote for the "lesser of two evils".

  7. So how's England's financial status going there mate?  Not too good eh?  Geez sorry to hear that, you should take care of your own yard before judging the neighbor's don't you think?

  8. we love you too. I will be voting for Obama because i like his foreign policy you should like too and also his health care plan is better than the McCain alternative.i think you guy love Obama in Europe

  9. I like Palin. She should be running for President. She comes from a state that is similar to my own and she is from a small town. An avid outdoors woman and hunter. A great amount of disdain for the federal government and a strong supporter of individual rights and freedoms. I feel that I can trust her way more then any of the other politicians we have been hearing so much about. If my children wanted to play with her children and have sleep overs, I would be very much OK with that. I don't get that feeling from the other candidates.
