  1. Yes, It is called a EVDO modem from Verizon Wireless. The wireless cellphone providers use different protocols for transferring data packets to you but I know that Verizon uses EVDO. This is a very helpful solution to anyone on the go that needs access to the internet. There are a couple problems with this service. One is that if you used to surfing the web at home then you will go crazy over the speed, but since its a choice between this and nothing at all then it is fine. Also speeds are increasing every month. Second problem with this service is that it is costly. They charge a monthly data usage plan that caps at about 5 Gigabytes and once you go over that cap you have to start paying overages. Hope that helped.
