  1. STOP BEING CRITICAL AND READ YOUR BIBLE!!!! DISEASE IS DOWN TO GOD ITZ ALL ABOUT THE TYPE OF PERSON WITH THE DISEASE AND THE WAY THEY ARE E.G GOOD OR BAD. ALSO NOT ALL DISEASES CAN BE CURED CHUPID EDIAT ONLY THE ONES THAT ARE NOT AS MAJOR!! GOD RUNZ TINGZ U CHUPID ATHEIST!!! MAY GOD PUNISH U FOR UR HARSH JUDGEMENT!! OH YH BELIEVE HE WILL!!!!!!!!

  2. Oh, yeah, baby!  That sounds like Christian "logic" alright...

And, please, don't ask me to explain cause you lost me at "I don't believe"

  3. Either god created everything, or he/she/it didn't. You can't have it both ways.

  4. i guess there trying to say humans can't do anything to what god makes so if they believe that logic then people aren't made by god and trees and every other thing on earth

  5. Sounds perfectly logical to me.

Your question asked if God sent diseases to punish people. Logically, if He did, we wouldn't be able to cure them.

So, you assume (by your question) that God exists, but further assume we are more powerful than God?

  6. Logic ceases to be a factor as soon as the G-word is mentioned.

  7. That's not entirely incorrect.  If disease was truly a divine punishment, wouldn't we have to be divine in order to cure it?

  8. people in england get upset tummies because sainsbury stores sells chicken sandwiches that have passed the used by date

  9. Interestingly, yes (at first blush no).

The answerer is saying that if God did it humans couldn't fix it.

  10. thats deffo sounds like a stupid christians answer!

  11. It's christian logic.

If disease were from mighty god, then they would be "perfect", and us mere humans wouldn't be able to cure it. So it mustn't be from god.

But, wasn't everything supposed to be created by god?

Whether we can cure a disease or not has nothing to do with god, and, even if god did create diseases, that doesn't automatically mean we can't cure them.

  12. Maybe she meant "up"?

  13. "DOWN to God?"  how is anything DOWN to God?

  14. There has always been disease so if God created man the universe he must have created disease.

  15. Well we can't cure all "disease" for a start and some "disease" is man made...

Any opinion based on the concept of god having any influence has to be based on the notion that "god" exists at all and if we're referring to the Christian "God" then we must believe that god is responsible for creating all things, good and bad alike, disease included.

If god did create disease then that doesn't mean that we haven't been given the intelligence to cure them... God supposedly created man and yet we have the ability to kill one another. If god didn't created disease and has no power over it then we have a situation that goes against the notion of god altogether.

If we are forming our own "opinions" about "God" then there is no such thing as a "logical" one.

  16. No, it isn't logical.

James 5:14  Is anyone among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord.  15  And the prayer of faith will save the sick, and the Lord will raise him up. And if he has committed sins, he will be forgiven.

  17. No, on so many levels.

Firstly, does God exist?  If so, prove it.

Secondly, IF God existed and IF God made diseases, WHY?

Thirdly, sounds like a 7 year old logic so don't want to go around offending them so will stop now.

  18. No, I don't think it's logical.  There's no reason God couldn't have created disease and then allowed human beings to cure it.

Of course, people saying "why would an all-powerful being create something like disease" are kind of missing the point.  Since when would an all-powerful being do things a certain way just because human beings think it makes sense?  Are we so smart we know everything about how the universe is supposed to work?

My own approach to spirituality is more along an agnostic/animist bent, but it always amazes me how people will stop believing in God because God doesn't do things the way that person would do them.  OK, if you're so smart, run the universe.  Because God only knows we've done a bang-up job on this one planet so far. I like science too, but I notice that ever since we made a religious cult out of it, we've kind of messed the planet up a lot.  Funny, that.

  19. no one can cure amputees, not even god

  20. Lol, that is just to funny. If god is so all might and all knowing why wouldn't disease be down to him.
