no..the shorts should be caprise and more felxebal so not jeans it is a play anyway

It's perfectly ok.

In 1987, my school performed the Nutcracker Suite.  The 6th grade girls were required to wear tube tops and baggy pants.  They had to look like belly dancers.  I was in the 5th grade so I didn't have to.
