  1. It can be done in both.

    Add a new layer

draw the spiral around your body

then erase what ever you dont want in front of your body to give the illusion of it wrapping around you. Then just add some blur and some glow and you should be good

  2. Onemoreminute is right. ... Wow, it has been years since I worked in paintshop pro. It's a fun program! I use Adobe stuff now though. ... And as great as photoshop is, I like fireworks better. (originally by macromedia - now owned by adobe)

Photoshop and fireworks would let you do that by blurring or 'feathering' and by making it 'glow' as onemoreminute suggested. Or, if the blur and glow combo is too much - consider putting it on 2 layers. Do an exact copy/paste. Blur the bottom ribbon and change the top one to the color you want.

I also think this would look a little nicer if you chose a thicker line width. But just my opinion - that kind of stuff varies by project.

    Have fun!

p.s. It also looks like there is a texture / pattern to the original pink line. I know that you can do this in photoshop by changing it from "solid" to "pattern" (there's a dropdown near the color selector) But I'm not sure about paintshop ... I'm guessing they would have the same option.
