  1. In this way yes. Your passing the work off as your own effectively when your handing in a report. Even though your referencing the sources the work clearly is intended to be your own, that is the premises the assumption works off.

  2. NO. If you give references for everything used, it is not plagiarism.

    Plagiarism:

Plagiarism is the practice of claiming or implying original authorship of (or incorporating material from) someone else's written or creative work

  3. Okay, it's not plagiarism, and I wouldn't even consider it cheating, but I doubt seriously it fulfilled the requirements of the assignment.

You were probably supposed to actually think about something, not just punch stuff up on the computer and collate it.  Here's a few phrases you might try to use next time that will help get you thinking and writing what the teacher wants:

    "However...."

"What this means is .... "

"When compared to the data contained in .... "

"Looking at the two side by side, ..... "

  4. Are they made in quotation marks? If not, and if it encompasses the entire paper, yes, that's plagarism.

  5. also you can not use more then 10% of a work in yours ..............also remember to use quotes but site them ........

any work is Plagiarism if you try and pass it off as your own.............BUT do remember that who is marking may aslo ask about the works you have sited so it helps to have read them !! cut and paste can appear disjointed

  6. If you gave proper acknowledgment for every quotation, you're not plagiarizing.  However, unless your combined all your cut and pasted material smoothly, with transtions of your own introducing each quotation, your paper may not be very coherent.  In particular, if you quoted one long passage and then another instead of taking the relevant bits and pieces and integrating them, your paper may turn out rather like a cake made by dumping all the ingredients into the pan without stirring them.

  7. If you reference it then it's not plagiarism. But if the pasted text is too large, although it's not plagiarism, it can be a copyright violation.

  8. No, that's wikipedia!

    Just cite your sources.

  9. If you reference everything it's not plagiarism but, if all the work is just cut and paste that's pretty much cheating anyway.  Make sure more of the work is your own, with a few cut and pasted sections, that are referenced.

  10. This is starting to be a real problem with the advent of the Internet.  A lot of reports (especially in high school and early college) are being "written" by copying and pasting material.

When referencing quotes and sentences, there should be a small amount in the whole report.

If MOST of the report is made up of copies from materials, then yes it is plagiarism.

  11. as long as u show exactly what you took from where/who, it isn't plagiarims...but ur teacher might not approve though

  12. we can't say that it's plagiarism because there are books which are referenced by the author yet they don't acused it for plagiarism. maybe if you are about to pass a thesis or project works that came mostly from others idea we can call it plagiarism. i think your next question is that you would just paraphrase their ideas. when you paraphrase their ideas, it still a plagiarism.
