Is this possible in Dead Rising for the Xbox 360?

I had got home, turned on the 360, sat down to play Dead Rising. Next I started a new save file with previous stats. Go into it a little while and next thing I know im down to 26 hrs left in the mall and I havent started any of the case files yet, the only thing I can do is save people in the game and defeat bosses. Before I had started a new save file it let me go through the case files, so does anyone know whats wrong with it? and is this even possiable?

sounds like a glitch.

maybe it just read a previous save and got it confused with you starting a new game?

it's never happened in the 5 times i played through it lol.

just beat a game then start a new one? idk...

No case files at all? If so, that is odd.

However, there's a point or two where you can opt not to complete a case file and the game doesn't end. Perhaps that's what happened with you, you missed a deadling for one and now the remaining casefiles don't come up.

On the plus side you get a little more time to do what you like. You won't get the best ending, though.
