Is this possible in a coma?

Question

lets say a person slips into a coma. can they dream the rest of there life in that coma?

sort of like the matrix, but instead of a machine, its an intricate and complex coma dream.

this has always been a fear of mine LOL. but would this be possible in a coma?

I recall having four distinct dreams while in a coma, each blending into the next.  I was in the coma for then days, and suspect I had the dreams just before waking.  I have no idea how long I was in a dream state.
