I have a daughter in the 8th grade. Every morning they have 30 minutes to themselves before classes start. My daughter and her friends go to the girls bathroom every morning to fix their hair and makeup, and its the only place in school theyre aloud to be thats not jam packed. The male principal every morning opens the door and yells for the girls to come out, because he claims that they're "hanging out." He doesn't come in, but he certainly can see pretty far in from where he is standing. I think this is an innapropriate thing for a male principal to do. If he MUST tell the girls to get out, he should atleast get a female teacher to tell them to leave. Do you think this is odd?

  1. They shouldn't be playing

  2. Nearly every school has rules about bathroom breaks and none I have heard of include letting girls go in there for half an hour to fix their makeup! If he opens the door to yell in and ask that they come out... that's fine. Yes it would probably be more appropriate if a woman teacher did that (maybe calmly bring that to his attention) but I don't think he is doing anything wrong. (besides, what is he going to see? a girl washing her hands? It's not like they walk around naked in there)

  3. I side with you! This guy would be in serious trouble if it were my daughter! I think the school board needs to know this. Even if it's an innocent thing that he feels compelled to do,{Asserting his authority, and inflating his male ego. lol!}, he needs to come up to present day standards, and KNOW that he needs a female authority figure to do this. If one female student were to be in a state of undress, and one, or more female students were to capture the male principal opening the door on the student with their camera phone, he would be in SERIOUS trouble! (Sorry about the run-on!) This 'Egghead' needs to think about the implications of his actions! Good thing I'm not her father! I would probably have the tendency to go down there, and do something stupid, and regret my actions later! This is not the way to act in society. But if that's my little girl, there's NO WHERE for you to hide! lol!

  4. that is really REALLY creepy

  5. If they aren't supposed to be there, then I don't see a problem with that. Well, maybe like not sticking his head in, but like opening the door and asking them to come out...

  6. I don't see anything wrong at all.  Girls use stalls to use the bathroom, you can see nothing by opening a door and yelling inside.  Maybe they should spend that 30 min reviewing notes or even talking or playing games and not putting on makeup...why is she wearing makeup anyways?

  7. I dont think it is odd, and yes you should talk to someone about this and try to get a female to come get them. But they shouldnt be hanging out  in there and im sure eh justs wants them out and gets frustrated.

  8. I don't think it is odd or inappropriate.

  9. He probably has done it so many times, he is use to it being no big deal.

We use to gather in the restrooms early in the morning and I remember Coach Humphreys (a man)yelling in there to get out.  We didn't think a thing of it then.

Don't ruin someones reputation around the school by making a big deal out of it, before you know all the facts.

What if it was your son and he was doing that without thinking about it the way you are thinking about it.?

How would you want it handled then?

  10. Bring it up at a school meeting for parents. Try changing it so that he isnt able to do it anymore, it is totally creepy. Maybe they can even put something to blockade view directly into the washroom (I mean what if the door is open and a boy walks outside and peeks in, creepy!).

  11. I agree that he should have a female staff member do this, I would bring it up to the school board.
