Is this really bad for my teeth?

i have braces and my teeth are very clean accoring to my orthodontist and dentist. For a while now i had noticed that i had this tiniest bit of plaque/tartar on the side of one of my braces. its very small that no one could notice unless they looked closely. I just got the end of one of my earings and lightly scrapped most of it off, it looks much better now with most of the plaque/tartar gone, but is this reallyy bad for my teeth or something?

no..as long as the earring end was clean and u clean ur teeth afterwards

no.  you can actually buy dental tools to do that with.  they are shaped alot like the hook end of your earring, only more user friendly with a handle and stuff.
