Question:

Is this really helping Homeowners?

Brown and his cronies have now come out with yet another "idea" to what they think, will be positive way to help homeowners through what is now known as "the credit crunch".They are planning to give these desperate people another loan to see them through the hard times.

Now excuse me,but will this not put them into even more debt and,is this yet another ploy to try to claw back some support for a failing government.

The other part of my question will be to ask what about all the other poor people who are also struggling to make ends meet, how are the Labour Party going to help them?.

Finally when are we going to wake up and realise that we here in the UK are financially "stuffed".

  1. its all  crazy now  with  home  crisis..It was  created  by  a  bunch of crooks and scammers which should be beihind  bars

  2. you have a piont, but if any of these things help a young family that would otherwise be on the streets i think its a good thing. its good that things are been done to help the working person. rather than just handing council houses to single mothers and immigrants while hard working people cant afford to live.

  3. If these people are feeling the effects of credit crunch it means they have overstretched themselves why should the rest of us have to bail them out, are they going to help council tenants who may be struggling with there rent council tax etc.

  4. Agreed. There's no arguing with anything you say really.

The ridiculous point of it all to me, is that most of the people who are in trouble with mortgages and debt, are folk who borrowed far more money than they could afford in the first place.

Probably most of them did it to get 'status symbol' properties, to show the world just how 'rich' they were - now look at them !

Some older people these days, are really getting desperate and don't even know where tomorrow's meals are coming from.

They're the ones that need help, as you say.

The government will always help the so-called middle classes though, in preference to the poor - as this is where they get their best support.

What a society we live in !

  5. I've seen this lot in action before and they wrecked the country then and for all the stupid people who voted for them, you got it wrong. You mention failing government, it has failed. They should be kicked out of office now not tomorrow now. They keep throwing money at things but where is it coming from as the country is bankrupt.

  6. Too little and too late.

  7. Labour created this problem by making 70% of GDP reliant on the consumer. This means that most of the economy is about people shopping for Gucci on credit. When the supply of borrowed money dried up, this entailed people spending less on luxury goods, thus causing the current slowdown (NB not recession).

There is a problem with the Chancellor "compensating" people who have to pay more tax on account on the abolition of the 10% tax band. If you pay everyone back who pays any tax, no tax will be collected.

The answer is to create an export-based, knowledge economy, which is not so heavily reliant on Retail Therapy.
