Is this ridiculous or what?

This woman who I just met has a 4 1/2 year old son. My son turned 4 recently and we were talking about our kids. Well it turns out she lets her son take a bath/shower buy himself! Is it just me or should that not be allowed? My son when he get a bath/shower he can wash himself now but me or my boyfriend are always there watching him to make sure nothing happens! So many injuries are caused in the tub!

My question is what age did you let your child shower alone? And what she's doing is that o.k?

I can't believe some of the nonsense some of the mothers here are saying.
Any child professional will tell you this is the age where children start to show their independence and it is suppose to be encouraged ladies!!!!!
You have no business bathing a child over 6-under any circumstances!!!!
Like a few moms here have said, they can hear everything going on, when it is quiet a simple check at the door asking if everything is ok works just fine.
You cannot encourage independence by giving in to every imagined catastrophic
imagined situation!!!!! Grow up ladies , theres p lenty of other things to worry about!!!
Oh one more thing, never let a babysitter bath your kids-latest research is saying your inviting problems-nuff said!
