Ok, i waz @ Dairyville (an ice cream place) with my dad and cousin. I'm 12 and a little overweight. So, we were eating our ice creams and sone lady in her 50s told me something like "oh ur eating healthy r u". So I was annoyed and ignored her. Was that the right thing to say?? What would you have said in that situation.??

  1. I'd have said,"Mind your own business,you old cow!"

  2. you're looking old lady, live healthy!

  3. id av told them 2 sod of an worry bout thr own health.. buzy bodys..how dare she.. nosey cow..

  4. You did the right thing by not reacting to her rude and crude statement. It is apparent she is a bully (Yes even adults are bullies) and wanted to hurt your feelings and try to get a reaction from you. But you showed more maturity by maintaining your dignity and not responding. Being a little overweight at 12 is not the end of the world, as long as you allow yourself to become obese, dont worry about it.

  5. No one goes to a Ice Cream parlor to eat healthy.  And if i was there and you were mine. I would have put her in her place. so fast her head would spin.  That was no was for a lady to act towards a child. Who does she think she is to talk to a child like that. She is eating no more healthier then you.

  6. I would have said..."at least I'm not old, ugly and mean spirited."  I'm surprised your father didn't say something to her.  I certainly would have if I was with you.

People are clods.  They pretend that they are worried about your health when they say nasty things to overweight people but the truth is they just don't like people who are overweight and they can't stop themselves from saying something.

In the future when someone says something to me about my weight I'm going to say "I wonder what you would look like if all of your nasty little issues showed on the outside."

  7. I would have said "So it's your business, is it?" and then just went right on doing what I was doing. You don't want to be rude to an older person but she was rude first. So it's good that you weren't mean, but you could have stood up for yourself. She has no right to talk to you at all.

  8. Giving her an evil glare that would send shivers down her spine.  I'd like to know what the hypocritical 50-something year old woman was doing in an ice cream parlor... getting a salad?

  9. I would've been cheeky right back and replied: "At least I've got something worth l*****g lady.".

But then I'd get clobbered by my dad, after he'd stopped laughing.

And old folks also whine about the lack of respect for their elders anymore.  I wonder why.

  10. That was very rude, none of her business and she has no manners at all. You did exactly the right thing, when someone is that rude the best thing to do is to ignore them completely.

I was in a Honybaked Ham store ordering a ham sandwich with a friend of mine and the guy sweeping up behind me said to the guy taking the orders "First time I ever saw pig ordering pig." I said nothing; my friend was so angry I had to stop from going ballistic on him. I never went in there again, but the point is, there are rude people everywhere and I wish I could tell you why they are so rude but I can't, so you have to be the better person and ignore them.

  11. I would have said "So are you."

  12. You did the right thing to ignore her. Returning a negative comment would only make you just like her. Actually, you were the grownup and she was the kid. Two wrongs don't make a right.

  13. "oh ur getting old r u"
