Last number of the zip code divided by the first number, minus the other zip code divided by 3.

The number left multiplied by 4 is the number of miles.

  1. This is obviously wrong, nonsensical and baseless.

Take 90230, for example, which is adjacent to 90232.

    0/9 = 0. 90232/3=30077

the distance, according to the formula, is -30077*4 miles.

  2. No, because two zip codes NEXT to each other could be numbers further apart than one far away from those two codes. Remember, the zip codes go in one direction and then back, not in all directions.
