Is this right or not?

I am so pissed off because I am about to be finished school on September 3rd and I am taking up Surgical Technology by the way. Well anyway I don't understand how everyone in the class ended up working in the operating room and I some how got stuck in Labor and Delivery. I am so fearful that the two months that are spent in Labor and Delivery will hold me back from getting a job in the operating room. I just don't understand, I have good grades in book work and hands on skills. I am a people person and I some how ended up with the crappy end of the stick. On top of everything else, me and some other girl in school may not be able to start externship with everyone else. We may have to start our externship in October or in the middle of October while every one else gets to start in September. I was told that grades would way heavily on who would be placed where first and I feel so cheated. What should I do?

You'd think seeing the miracle of life happen would be way awesome.  Besides there will be c-sections, birth-defects and chemically addicted babies, close calls and emergency procedures to save lives- some of which will fail.  You sound like a spoiled snot and I hope your experience humbles your hardened soul after you see only a portion of what you are going to see.  "stuck" in Labor & Delivery- wow.

  Think again and try harder, that doesnt mean you are not good or being cheated, dont compare yourself to others, just try to figure out what is delaying you.

Dont despair but summon all your will-power and passion to hang in there, and slowly work yourself towards your real goal. Just like the South African surgeon's assistant who had no qualification for a doctor, but through years of observation and acquiring the relevant skills, was allowed to perform operations. Passion will get you there.
