Today was the first day of school. I had a teacher I had last year and i go tanning all the time. Today she says infront of my whole class , Andrew has been tanning since the 2'nd semester of last year and maybey is skin looks natural now but when hes this color in january you will think otherwise. Then she called me a tanerixic. I went tanning to try and make people think that i had naturally tan skin and then she kinda made me feel bad. Whats your thoughts on this.

  1. My 6th grade science teacher openly called me an idiot when we where watching this freakishly biased documentary on global warming were this guy was saying that we would all run out energy because global warming would cause us to use more air conditioning in the summer. I asked her, "Wouldn't that mean wouldn't use as much energy in the winter? "She called pretty much called me an idiot. From then on I hated her guts. Its not just because I don't agree with her. I also had a tree hugging, democratic, atheist, science teacher before that, and we got along just fine. She was just a demon spawn.

  2. she stepped out of line on that one...

i would tell your principal about that, and make sure something happens, if only getting her to apologize in front of the class.

but by telling her boss, she will be extra careful about what she says and not do that again.

  3. Wtf?

    That's definitely rude of her...

I don't know if she's allowed to say it though.

Although, if she continues to ridicule you in class, you can probably tell your principal/dean, especially if she only does it to you.

  4. She's not your teacher this year yet she came into your class and made this personal comment about you on the first day of school?  I don't get it.  You make it sound like this is something you do *together* this is a whole other level of inappropriateness.  Something doesn't sound right to me.

  5. It's a bit rude and maybe out of line, but that depends a bit on how the class usually acts.  Before this comment, were you the type of kid who would joke around with this teacher?  Teachers often make comments in the course of joking around with a class, and frequently don't realize when they've struck a nerve or hurt a feeling.  I see a lot of people telling you to go to the principal and what not.  That may be an option later, but have you talked to your teacher about it?  My guess is that she'll be horrified that she hurt your feelings.  At least try that first.  Think about it- If you were having a party and the loud music was bugging your neighbors, would you rather they come over and ask you to turn it down, or just call the cops without saying a word to you?

  6. that is rude . but yeah she is aloud to say that .

  7. Yeah, they are aloud to say stuff like that unfortunatly.

but yes, it was very rude.

don't dwell on it too much, don't worry about it.

  8. I think you need to get a sense of humour. My teachers call me weird all the time. I thank them. I call them weird all the time, they thank me. Loosen up.

  9. do you watch project runway? you should! you are just like blake

  10. Your teacher is wrong for saying this, but that doesn't mean that the students will think bad of you (or your tan) If you are really hurt by this, you should definately tell the principal or your parent(s). But don't worry about what other people think!

  11. She was rude and yet what she said was true.  I think she could have gotten the message across that tanning is a very bad idea and will age your skin quicker than anything else.

I'm from Alaska and hardly got any sun as I was growing up.  I only had three light sun burns in my life compared to most people who have had dozens each summer.  Today, I'm 50 years old and look much, much younger as my skin isn't wrinkled and is soft and smooth.

One day you will be old like me and you will wish you hadn't tanned.  You should stop tanning quickly or you will be sorry later.

Your teacher hurt your feelings but if it makes you look good when you are 50 you will be thankful for her later.

(Use skin darkening lotions if you want to look like you have a tan.  I use it instead of makeup and I don't look too white but I don't get sun much at all on my skin.  Stay covered up!)

  12. Wow. Jeez that's really REALLY embarrassing.  Yea that would make me feel really bad too.  she or he shouldn'y butt in on your lifestyle.  That is just TOTALLY rude and i feel for ya Andrew

  13. She might be worried about you, since tanning is dangerous and you are putting yourself at risk by tanning "all the time".  It seems like a kind of awkward way to handle it, but she is allowed to do it and it isn't rude.
