i am looking for healthier cookware and have settled on stainless steel. it is safe yet affordable. my prob is alot of the have an "aluminum encapsulated core disk" in between the stainless steel layers to help with heating evenly. does anyone know if the aluminum gets in the food? i am trying to stay away from it. i was going to go with copper bottoms but these are a little cheaper. any advice or links are appreciated. thanks!

  1. the aluminum cannot get the food.  Be careful, some of the cheaper aluminum encapsulated pots can separate if they are left on a burner with nothing in the pot.

  2. I've never seen any actual proof that aluminum is poisonous, but I use Revereware, copper bottom pots & iron pans. Both are quite good & inexpensive.

  3. The aluminum can not affect the the food because the stainless steel is in the way.  However be cautious about using these pans because if over heated the aluminum can melt.  This happened to me when I accidentally left a pot with encapsulated aluminum on the stove until the water had boiled away.

  4. go to dictionary and look up encapsulated.
