Is this safe to download?

I had AVG Anti-Virus on my last computer but I downloaded that ages ago and I can't remember where from. My computer broke so I have a new one now and I want AVG again but I'm really wary about downloading anything. I can't afford to pay for AVG from the official site but there's another site that offers it free of charge -- well, the basic package is free, which is all I need.

Anyway, it looks legitimate but I can't tell whether it really is safe or whether it's a scam or something.

It is definately safe. It was sponsored by AVG so it would be copyrighting to put AVG on your link if it wasnt really AVG.

Its safe but I honestly would not rely solely on AVG...for some reason it didnt pick up 128 infections I had...ugh

if your worried about your computer being safe, get a security centre,they don't cost much to save the computer

Yes, its safe, when you click the link it takes you to cnet and you can download it there safely.
