I have "Postinor - Levonorgestrel 2 tablets, each tablet 0.75mg"

manufactured by chemical works of Gedeon richter ltd

Budapest Hungary expiration 2/2010..

repackaged by Unison Laboratories Co. Ltd. Bangkok

distributed by Medline Co. Ltd.

-----------

so, basically, yeah its the morning after pill, should i trust it from this manufacturer, etc? i bought it in thailand at a chemist...

also, it says 2 tablets of 750mcg, take one then take another after 12 hours. this was the way it used to be sold in the UK now its Levonelle (levonorgesteral) 1500 mcg to be taken once.. so, if it is ok to take (i was advised to by nurse, but can get it where i want either for £25 or the one i already have i guess) cant i just take both 750mcg tablets together? or is it better to take them 12 hours apart as instructed on box? ty

  1. Unison Laboratories of Bangkok is licensed for pharmaceutical exports to both the US and UK.  If the concern is about the purity, you're probably ok.

As far as dosing goes, follow the advice of the nurse.  If she said take 1500mcg in one dose, then do that.  A biotech degree doesn't give me the right to override professional medical advice.

  2. If you're procrastinating over the dosing regime of the morning after pill tablet you bought in Thailand, aren't you a little late in taking it? If you bought it in anticipation of needing it, shouldn't you just use contraception?

  3. If in doubt throw it out - better yet find someone with a "cin bin" you can have it properly destroyed in.

Any advice should be coming from either the manufacturer or a physician qualified to tell you what you need to know, and which will probably require the pertinent facts relating 'why' you think you should take it.

If you can, call any number or visit a website address provided - ensure you can get the same language you speak, e.g. Budapest & Bangkok's english translation is not english, do double check that.

To be altogether sure, visit the doctor.
