my boyfriend has a baby girl, she is 8 months and already standing up by herself, climbing on stuff and d**n near walking.....is it true that when a child is moving fast like that, its because somebody close is pregnant or about to be expecting?

If so does it have to be that childs mother or not because im the one suppose to be pregnant but not sure yet??

(the 8month old baby is not mine, just letting be known in case it was not clear)

  1. that's a new one. there are tests that you can get to find out if your pregnant.

  2. No, it is not true at all

she is just a smart child. thats all

  3. Ive never heard that saying before... 2 of my kids were were standing at 8 months and walking by 9 months... I was told, that when a child is chewing on their toes, then someone in the family is expecting, or soon to be pregnant...

  4. My daughter is 6 months old & already trying to walk, when she was born she could already hold her head up just fine. Someone told me that when they learn quicker & want to be more independent & such, it is because they are trying to make room for the next one, as in a little brother or sister, i said i don't think so, she isn't going to have a little bro or sis for awhile lol. But for about the past 2 weeks i have been having a lot of the pregnancy symptoms again, haven't tested yet, & really really hoping i'm not pregnant again already, but i guess there may be some truth in that saying, but not sure yet, i will know after i take the test, & hopefully can get back to you on this question in a day or so.

  5. old wives' tale - it's not true.

it's also not true that the child will be walking independently within [x] amount of time - some kids are happy to "cruise" (what it's called) for months while others skip cruising altogether and go straight to walking.

mind you, Back in The Day when women were constantly pregnant, i'm sure it was true that when a baby chewed their toes, someone in the house was pregnant because by the time the baby's old enough to do that, the mother usually was!

  6. Don't think so.

  7. Well my daughter was walking at 8 months and that was years ago. No one around was or became pregnant.
