Does this seem too hard if I also have a job while going to school? I'm thinking of dropping the English course but cannot decide.

Opinions?

  1. It depend on the individual. I personally believe this schedule is just about right. College algebra, Wellness, should be a breeze. Economics & history is so,so. Eng & stats may cause some problems (more of English). English is probably the most time consuming of them all. But if you consider dropping it, just don't forget that you have to take it some time. And that some time may be worse then now (because the more you go into college, the more difficult each class get)

Everything also depends on your job. If your working full time, then i might consider dropping English. Just english and nothing else.

I took 6 classes (18 credits) last semester and worked about 20 hours a week and still managed a 3.6 GPA. Also on top of that, i took some really difficult classes which more than half of the students either failed or dropped out.

MY advice is Time management. If you have the time to do it, then go for it. Challenge your self.

    Good luck

  2. I would drop Econ or Statistics, but thats just me.  5 classes is my limit, but it also depends on how many credits the class is worth.

  3. Tricky, but not impossible, I think.  It depends on how many hours you're working and how flexible your employer is.

If you do decide it's too much, though, I'm going to disagree with everyone else and suggest dropping something other than English.  If you need a composition course at all, and you're going to be taking a fair number of classes that are writing-intensive, like history, then it's in your best interest to get those skills nailed down now before it hurts you on too many essays.  If you think your writing's pretty strong already, or you're not majoring in something that requires a lot of it, then yeah, go ahead and drop it.  The thing you have to remember about college as opposed to high school is that it's less important to have a well-rounded schedule than one that serves your needs and interests, so it's up to you to figure out what those are.

  4. i think the first two are a little too hard, but what do i know, i'm going to start college next week for the first time
